2024 brought a lot of new additions to the Schengrund herd! It was an exciting year as we welcomed one new broodmare and five foals to the farm. AW Chapter and Verse (AWS Icon x AW Centerfold) is the latest addition to our string of broodmares, this young mare brings even more variety to the bloodlines in our herd for some potential new and interesting crosses. For our 2024 foal crop we were excited to breed one of our mares to a stallion of our own breeding, SSLLC Extreme Waze as well as multiple other quality stallions. We are very grateful to have had a smooth and successful foaling season and we look forward to watching these foals grow and develop in the coming years. First up at the end of February came SSLLC Paramour “Peach”, a big bay filly by Cherrydale Casanova and out of Meadowsong Cameo. In March came a half brother to Peach, SSLLC Nirvana “Comet”. This handsome bay colt is also by Cherrydale Casanova, out of AW Interstellar. We had a very exciting night in the beginning of April when two of our mares decided to foal within two hours of each other! SSLLC Mozart (Cherrydale Casanova x Awen’s Rock Star) and SSLLC Beethoven (MLF Dynamic x Indian Creek Sahara). “Theo”, a black colt and “Archie” a bay colt, continue to keep us on our toes. These boys both have that typey Morgan look that we love to see. Finally, SSLLC Madonna made her entrance into the world in May. “Ivy” is a stunning chestnut filly by SSLLC Extreme Waze and out of SN Unzipped. This girl already loves to trot and show off!
